Summer brings a choice selection of barbeque meats, including succulent burgers and kebabs, whilst traditional cuts of meat for winter roasts and casseroles keep colder weather at bay. The range of seasonal game, all locally shot, is unsurpassed. As the biggest game supplier in the area, we specialise in pheasant, partridge, wild duck, pigeon breast, venison and rabbit throughout the autumn and winter until the month of February. Our tasty chipolatas and prime sausages, which are also available in a gluten free range, are a popular supper time party food to celebrate national sausage week and Bonfire Night. Christmas heralds the arrival of a host of festive fare including a wide range of poultry. Superb quality goose makes a wonderful alternative to traditional turkey, as do locally reared cockerel, free range chicken, guinea fowl, quail, poussin and duck which can be supplied either whole or solely the breast meat. For those who prefer to serve traditional turkey at the Christmas table, we have three offerings, each free range, which we recommend pre-ordering: Bronze turkey – for the ultimate Christmas dinner, this luxurious turkey is unbeatable for its exceptional quality and sensational taste. Specially reared for us on local farms to rigorously high standards, the slightly stronger flavour sets this bird apart from all others. White turkey – the finest meat from birds reared to achieve their optimum weight. Turkey butterfly – choose from either single or double turkey breast meat. For added convenience, you may wish to opt for your butterfly to be pre-stuffed with savoury sage and onion sausage meat ready for the oven. Our tantalising selection of jams, jellies, pickles and sauces will compliment each of your Christmas meats and hams. Choose from a zingy cranberry sauce or luxury Boxing Day chutney. Alternatively, your guests will be impressed by our mouthwatering pâtés with their exciting flavours. The rich Brixworth is made with chicken liver, brandy, sherry and garlic, whilst our excellent Patchwork Pâtés will tempt any palate. Choose from tequila and cranberry, brandy and herb, cointreau and orange, white wine and pepper, mushroom and garlic, duck and apricot or smoked salmon mousse. All are delicious and a very different experience. Speciality cheeses feature in our Christmas hampers which make ideal gifts or a sensational after dinner centrepiece for your own table. The well-stocked Adstock Hamper contains Somerset Camembert, English Stilton, Bouncing Berry Snowdonia and Wyke Farm mature Cheddar. For sheer indulgence, opt for the Claydons Hamper with a selection of Irish St Killian Brie, English Stilton, mini Wensleydale with cranberries, Cornish Yarg and traditional Montgomery Cheddar. Available throughout the year, the succulent lamb sourced from nearby Foscote is well worth sampling, particularly at its most tender in the spring.
